Warm light, late nights, one guest at a time. Grow, raise, and catch ingredients, then cook each dish by hand across eight taste pillars, tailoring plates to whoever’s at the counter while a harbour town slowly wakes up.
Overview
You've reopened a shuttered little diner on the edge of a harbour town. The boats still go out. The lights mostly stay off. There's a plot next door, a counter with a few stools, and a town that's forgotten the quiet magic of being cooked for — that part's up to you.
Harbourlight is a cozy farm-to-table diner sim. Spend your days however you like. Whatever you gather becomes the night's ingredients, cooked by hand in your kitchen, for one guest at a time.
Gameplay
-
Grow, raise, and catch your ingredients
- Turn the plot next door into a harbour-side allotment: plant and water crops through the seasons, raise animals, or head down to the harbour to fish.
- Whatever lands on the plate comes from your hands.
-
Cook every dish by hand
- No menu or recipe cards to click: add real ingredients and amounts by hand.
- The kitchen recognises combinations — for example, chopping tomatoes and coriander with a little chilli registers as a pico de gallo.
- Every ingredient carries a taste across eight pillars: sweet, salt, sour, bitter, umami, heat, fat, and aroma.
- Tailor each plate to whoever's at the counter: a splash more acid, a pinch of heat, or a little extra fat to round it off.
-
Get to know the regulars
- Regular customers return and open up slowly over quiet evenings at the counter. Listening helps you cook what they really want.
-
Bring the town back to life
- As word spreads new townsfolk arrive with new ingredients, dishes to learn, and skills to help shape your corner of town.
- Your farm and kitchen grow alongside the town, turning the diner into a place people walk to.
Play style
Play it your way: simply cook, listen, and enjoy evenings at the counter, or chase perfection by reading taste profiles and dialing in every gram. The depth is available if you want it, and out of your way if you don't.
Development
Harbourlight is a solo project, still in development, with a playable demo promised later in the year. Wishlist and follow to keep up with updates.
